“A Trip to Ningxia by Academician Experts from Hunan” -- Ningxia Transportation Industry Technology Seminar was held in Yinchuan on August 4, 2020. Sponsored by the Transportation Department of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the campaign was undertaken by Ningxia Road Maintenance Engineering Technology Research Center. Professor Zheng Jianlong of Changsha University of Science and Technology, also as an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Professor Shao Xudong of Hunan University were invited to this seminar. More than 70 representatives from Transport Department of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Science and Technology Department of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Ningxia Association for Science and Technology, Ningxia Highway Construction Administration, Ningxia Communications Investment Group, Ningxia University and other related organizations attended the seminar, under the host by Yu Guirong, the head of science and technology administration office, Transport Department of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

 

At the meeting, Wei Li, member of the Party Committee and Chief Engineer of the Transport Department of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, delivered a speech on behalf of the Transport Department of the Autonomous Region. Academician Zheng Jianlong and Professor Shao Xudong shared lectures on special topics of "Development and Prospects of Road Engineering" and "UHPC Application on Long-span Cable-stayed Bridges" respectively. Meeting participants had a lively academic discussion with the academicians and experts in combination of status of road development in Ningxia Hui Autonomus Region.

 

This exchange seminar provides a platform for practitioners in transportation industry in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region to learn new technologies and new ideas, it at the same time promotes the exchanges and cooperation of enterprises and institutions in the Autonomous Region with high-level scientific research institutions and top experts in the industry from other regions, and makes it easier for them to achieve mutual complementarity from both sides, especially for new technologies and new ideas to take root in transportation industry in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
